All you have to do is: Paste the file in "C:Program FilesNeroNero ControlCenter 4" And rename it: advrcntr4.dll instead of advrcntr2.dll

A) I placed the file on:
regsvr32 C:Program FilesCommon FilesAheadLib
B) go to Star/Run and type
regsvr32 C:Program FilesCommon FilesAheadLibadvrcntr2.dll
C) It will give you some error about a module or something. Just reboot
D) Problem solved
I am using Nero 8 with Vista professional.

I extracted this file to C:Program FilesCommon FilesAheadLib. I then used cmd line to navigate to the Lib folder. Then in cmd prompt typed regsvr32 advrcntr2.dll. It then will register successfully. Hope that helps.

I cant get Nero to run smooth with vista so took every file out from everywhere i too now get the pop up advrcntr2.dll its driving me mad i followed your instructions and download the file put it where you said and, yes you got it, its still there i even restarted computer in case...Help anyone.. someone its driving me mad i dont want Nero.. Roxio is much better with vista and much easier...

If you are having difficulties with Nero and this dll file you can try to uninstall/delete the ahead folder with nero in it in both the Program Files folder and the Common Files folder. If the folder is write protected for some reason and you cannot get rid of the folder then simply change the name of the ahead folder to anything you want, Aheade is fine or Piece_of_Mother*******_**** is just perfect as well and you should not get the error anymore

i too had this problemfor past 2days.. first i uninstalled the nero.then i jus deleted the folder "Ahead" in the program files and also the folder "Ahead" in program files--->common files. then i cleaned up the registry using a registry cleaner. now install nero. then restart.. thats it.. it works for me.

Everyone just delete the folder ahead.
one way of doing it is to click start, Then click search, Then click all file and folders and type ahead. And then it will search for the folder when found just right click on it and click delete problem solved :)

I got the Nero message when I opened Power DVD!! This fixed it:
I fixed the problem! Just delete this folder -> C:\Programme\Gemeinsame Dateien\Ahead
That is, C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead.
I just moved it into another folder, and sure enough--no more message. I haven't tested Nero yet, though.

It totally does not work with Nero v7.5.9 portable and Vista 32bit. I've put it in all three locations suggested here, and even tried to manually register it with a regsvr32.bat file. It will not register. Nero doesn't recognize it even in its own Lib directory. 4 places. This Windows Vista sucks arse. I even bought it. Yeah, funny.
