Redesign and strategic change of DLL-files.com

Posted on Thursday, 13th October 2011 by dll-files

Good morning everyone!

Today we have waken up to a new design of DLL-files.com. Some of you guys have seen a preview of it for a couple of weeks while we were trying it out. And today is the first day that it’s officially launched for (almost) all of our visitors (except for the language specific pages – we are working on getting them translated!)

When we were financed by ads, we got a lot of e-mails from our visitors because they were confused about who was offering what. It was hard to have control of all the advertisers and some of them were using “not so nice methods” to try selling their software to our visitors. Looking back to what have happened, we should have said “no” to some advertisers. But saying “no” to a big pile of money can some time be hard…

When we earlier this year got the idea to produce a software that would give more value to our users at the same time as we should be able to throw out all the ads from the website – we just had to try it. It’s DLL-files.com Fixer that I’m talking about that we launched in March this year. The Fixer solves the specific dll problem for most of the dll-files that we have on the website – free of charge! You then have the option to upgrade to the full version that will help you optimize your PC to run smoother, faster and better. The problem problem with our website though, was that it was optimized for ads and didn’t work very well to sell the new software from. After some hard work the new design is finally launched! =)

I, as the founder and CEO of DLL-files.com, am very proud of what we now can present to you. I really hope that you feel that you will continue using our service. We will always be providing the most essential part of the solution free of charge. We have been doing it since 1998 and will continue doing it for many many more years. If you feel that you want even more of what we have to offer – feel free to upgrade to the full version of “DLL-files.com Fixer”.

Your sincerely,
Filip Larsson

Getting System Speed in no Time

Posted on Friday, 11th March 2011 by dll-files

Your all new Windows 7 is the brain child of people geared to provide the computer with excellent speed and efficiency. Today, we talk about the dual core systems that help the computer to quickly sort out programs you always make use of so the issue of speed will be aided to your advantage. If you have been making use of your system for a while, especially having to surf the net often, you would discover that the longer you make use of your system, the slower it becomes over time. The cause of such disturbance may be numerous, but the solution is simple too.
Your system is like a house with many rooms, or like the chest in your home you employ to keep your clothes secured and in different departments. Your Windows system read and save software and files in areas called sectors. One challenging situation with the system is that it is possible for these files and programs to be saved in such a way that it takes a little more time to get them out at the command of your buttons. Sometimes, a single file could be stored in different areas in these sectors. Such process of saving files is the needed recipe for low speed of your computer.
Also important with making your Windows 7 go slower than normal is the issue of downloading software from distrusted sites without having an efficient and updated antivirus working for you. There are different programs scammers can endeavor to feed your system with that will make for low operational speed. If you are used to downloading programs and files from torrent sites, you better have an efficient antivirus as your watch dog so your system do not turn into a server. In the event that you allow this malicious software to get into your system undetected, they help slow down the operation of your Windows 7. If you have two systems and use one anytime you go online to download programs, and the other you just use to do domestic things other than going online, you will discover how the one used for online purposes would depreciate drastically in speed.
The internet is not as safe as we would want it to be. If your system is already making you go mad due to its slowness, you can always do something about it. Whether it is a damaged DLL file, or just mere slowness, there are things you can do to make the situation work better again. First, you can employ the use of system defragmenter provided you with your Windows 7.
Since your Windows 7 comes with in-built defragmenter, you can follow these steps to get it done.
1. Click on the Start button located at the bottom left hand side of your system.
2. Click on “All Programs” to get a full display of programs in your Windows 7
3. You will click on “Accessories”, which will display other programs too.
4. Hit on “System tools” to see your disk defragmenter.
You can set to defragment your drive C and drive D, or whatever other drives that is displayed on the defragmenter. You can also allow for scheduled defragment exercise too. If that fails to give you all you wanted, you can get a Registry cleaner to fix those bugs and get your system up and running again. Note that the registry is home to all your computer settings.
Generally, it is better you protect your system always than having to look for solutions now and then. It is understandable that things happen with Windows 7 that we never supported; it still stands that doing your own part by having an efficient and self-updating antivirus, coupled with a scheduled system defragment will be of immense help in preventive maintenance.

Windows Registry Cleaning

Posted on Tuesday, 8th March 2011 by dll-files

Most people are not technically savvy and the idea of cleaning your registry may actually sound like an impossible task that is better left to the experts, right? The good news is that it isn’t so hard and with the right direction, anyone can effectively clean their registry without breaking their computers and have it burst into a million pieces. In this article, we’ll show you how.

First, you must realize that there is a lot of debate evolving registry cleaners as many of them contain malware utilities. However, if you choose a reputable one, you should not have any issues with malware at all. In fact, register cleaners are extremely important for Windows users as they remove unwanted items or items from the user’s Windows registry. Thus, registry cleaners are your friend as they delete unwanted and unusable data from your computer. Such data is typically incompletely uninstalled programs or even certain information your system has already used for malware installation or functioning. In fact, the main purpose of a registry cleaner is to scan your Windows Registry, detect the data that needs to be removed and either delete the respective files or try to repair them. In all, a registry cleaner is software that is responsible for the cleanup of your Windows Registry.

Second, choose the best type of software for you. Luckily, there are many options to choose from. For instance, some registry cleaner software can help you restore or backup your system so there is no significant danger of damaging your system and not be able to return to your initial settings. With a good registry cleaner, you could install and uninstall software on a regular basis.

Third, use the chosen registry software to remove unwanted files. Insert the disk and then follow the manufacturer’s prompts for installing the software, backup your information and then remove the unnecessary files. By backing up your files before you remove them, you can restore any information that you mistakenly remove. If you don’t, you’ll run the risk of not being able to get your system to start or may experience constant crashes or system errors due to the removal of some critical registry files that you aren’t able to restore.

In conclusion, choosing an efficient registry can prove to be one of the smartest things you ever did. After all, such programs were created for the technically unsavvy or beginning user and have safeguards in place so that you only remove the invalid entries in your system. The window registry process is very complex and the number of broken links or missing file references to be removed can be daunting. Therefore, be safe and use a great registry cleaner to accomplish the task for you.

Introducing: Dll-Files Wiki Comments!

Posted on Tuesday, 1st March 2011 by dll-files

Dll-Files.com is working hard to give the users the best quality service possible.
In order to offer relevant information about the dll files, we now have a wiki for each dll file.

Under the download link on dll-files.com we have added the wiki content for the respective file.

The content of the wiki page is public and can be edited by anyone.
So far, we managed to collect relevant information about around 100 files, and we are working on adding information for every file. There are around 900 files left!

You can help us by clicking on Edit or the link below the comment, which will lead you to the Edit page in dll-files.com wiki.

On edit page, you will find the text that we already have for the respective file or you will find the {{Default_page}} line, which indicates that this file does not have any information yet.
If you have any relevant information regarding the file, delete this single line {{Default_page}} and add you text by simply tying or copy / paste.
Please make sure you don’t delete or change anything else except {{Default_page}}.

In order to Edit and make any changes on the Wiki, you must be a registered user.

Survey – please tell us what you think!

Posted on Tuesday, 28th December 2010 by dll-files

Happy Holidays everyone! :)

We’re not on vacation, we are too commited bringing you a world class service and help you with your computer problems. But in order to become better we are right now performing a survey on our website. We ask for just 1 minute of your time and to answer a few questions. The survery have been online for only 1 hour now, but we are already amazed about the results. It’s quite funny that we have built this website for one specific cause, but in the survey find out that people visit us for a whole other bunch of reasons! During next year we will work to become better in those areas that we find out we are weak in.

We will have the survey running until we have collected enough data. Maybe we will also have it continously running on the website to meassure the user experience over time (but in that case only give the option to about 1% of the visitors to be part of the survey – we don’t want to be a pain in the but!).

Our chinese website have been down for a couple of days

Posted on Wednesday, 24th November 2010 by dll-files

http://DLL-files.cn have been down for a couple of days because of a misunderstanding between us and the CN-registry.

We spend hours and hours trying to fix our DNS-servers, which didn’t seem to do the job
The CN-registry waited for us to send a confirmation of chinese citizenship. But since we’re not Chinese, it would be impossible for us to do.
They waited and we struggled and when we started to communicate it was easily solved by the CN-registry to activate our domain again.

Now everything works as a charm again!

Most Common Errors: Premium Install

Posted on Wednesday, 27th October 2010 by dll-files

Hi there!

We’ve noticed that many users who have chosen the Premium Install option when downloading the dll-file have faced different errors, that led them to request a Refund, when again, all they want is to get access to the file, install it and solve whichever issue they might be having at the moment.

Our great developer, Lars, created a small list with the most common errors and how to solve them, which I’ll be sharing with you all – and hope that it will solve most of your doubts:

Refunds, Premium Install and More…

Posted on Thursday, 21st October 2010 by dll-files

Here at DLL-files.com users have the option to choose the Premium Install when downloading their missing dll-file, so they will have the file installed automatically. This is a paid option which we grant a 100% refund in case it doesn’t work: we have so far and intend to continue.

But many users, after opting for the Premium Install have a hard time finding the link to the download. They request a refund when in fact, all they want is to actually get a hold of the file to finally solve their dll-file error.

Thinking of that, we have implemented a special feature on DLL-files.com for users who have chosen the Premium Install option and can NOT find the link to their file: https://www.dll-files.com/find.php. You will also see this option at the refund page: https://www.dll-files.com/refund_payment.php

This way, we hope to serve many more users in fixing their errors!

Of course, we still grant a refund to those users who need it.

Another tip: although DLL-files.com currently doesn’t offer any technical support, we strongly recommend users to visit our Forum http://forum.dll-files.com/ many other users keep the Forum up to date and collaborate with their personal information in how they’ve solved their dll-file issue.

Also, check our Help for the most common questions you might have!

We’d like to thank everybody who collaborates to keep DLL-files.com a free service to all!
